Seeing that we have a few capable pilots in the clan, i'm wondering if they were interested in teaching budding pilots the tricks of the trade ?

i'm pretty hopeless but very keen on improving my flying skills.

    thoughts / suggestions ?

theres not really much to say on this subject stirken.

i mean i could teach you how to fly, but i kinda need to be sitting next to you.

slow down while turning? i unno,

the most i could say is that you need to be good at reading where the other guys are going. i suppose you could try and follow one of us around and stay on our tail. just as practice.

its weird because, steamboat uses flares and rocket pods, and i use extinguisher and guided. ( its all how you want to play.)

with aiming and taking out planes aim in front of them and dont fire untill you know you will hit, all it takes is practice. ill be happy to jump in a server with you and fly around with ya, giving tips as we go

"Only once you learn how to crash can you learn how to fly" Confusionous proverb.

Im not a good pilot, but the best way to learn IMO is trying to pull off stuff that you think might kill you and hope for the best.

A big part of it is also tactics, situational awareness and team work rather than just being able to fly.

To fire locking missles from jets use beam scanner or whatever it is called and have someone designating targets.

Drifting is also mad fun, i often crash but i dont really care.

I find heat seekers a waste of time due to the followed disappointment when the enemy jet pops flares.

    You dirty, dirty man.

As others have said, it's pretty hard to just tell you how to fly. Really it just takes practice, we can give you tips but sometimes it's best to work things out for yourself.

I think the best way to learn is just to build up skills - learn how to fly and turn quickly, before adding maneuvers and then combat (air then ground). Try out all the unlocks to see which one works for you best, but keep in mind siutations where you could use others - while I normally just have IR flares and rocket pods I sometimes grab ECM or switch belt speed for air radar, depending on what the other team is doing.

Once you have enough experience, you can make somewhat decent predictions on what the enemy jet is gonna do and hence pull a maneuver to end up (hopefully) behind them. Similarly, experience helps in your situational awareness, you need to know where you are going to be facing after pulling a turn/roll etc.

Some general tips that may help
    - check six
    - slow down to around 280 to turn, then use full afterburn to pull out of it - this gives you quick turns (you almost drift around)
    - Avoid flying high, as you are easy to spot
    - If you are going for an enemy jet, don't shoot until you're within a decent range - I find it pretty hard to spot jets against the ground, but when you open up from hundreds of meters away the tracers are easy to see.
    - Spot jets, you can then see them on your HUD which acts a bit like air radar.
    - Always keep in mind where the sun is - try position yourself between the enemy and the sun so you're hard to spot. It also means if you see a jet shadow you can sort of work out where the jet is. If I'm outgunned I also tend to run away and fly directly into the sun - makes it hard for them to shoot you.
    - Don't use the f35

If you're not having much luck and getting shot down by SoV guys, jump on Vent and explain you're learning - we'll probably give you (some) respite.

There are a few named flight servers I have found but difficulty for me is getting enough air time and points to rank up especially in the jets... Any tips in this regard?? I get shot down before I can do anything to practice.....
