Things I like about Julia Gillard 3.0

She's doing something about climate change, unlike Julia 2.0 who said there would be no carbon tax.
Everyone believes her as a woman with intergrity

She's a proud athiest
In May 2010, said "There's more chance of me becoming the full-forward for the Dogs (Western Bulldogs AFL team) than there is any chance of a change in the Labor party.
In June 2010, challenged for the leadership of the Labor Party and won.

With the election only months away, time to rally behind our wonderful leader and point out her triumphs. (Try to avoid citing spending money as an accomplishment, instead look at policy)

Wanted an NBN, gay marriage, an acknowledgement of climate change/solutions, and even though im studying geology and going to join the mining industry i still think the RR tax is a good idea.

Defence and National Security ---- all of this is trolling
•End the ANZUS Treaty if it cannot be revised to accord with unspecified international and human rights obligations. [xliv]
•Reduce Defence spending. [xlv]
•Close Joint Australian/American military communications bases. [xlvi]
•End joint military training exercises with the armed forces of particular countries.[xlvii]
•Restrict and/or prohibit US naval fleet visits to Australia. [xlviii]

Workplace Relations
•Require employers to adhere to collective agreements. [xlix]
•Abolish secret union ballots on strike action. [l]

As with all political parties i don't agree with everyting they do/say, I just don't see myself voting for the liberals. Last time i checked this was the 21st centuary and i see the greens dragging Australia into it particulary on social issuses. Anyway the greens will never get into power but if they can make some progressive social changes and at the very least the NBN happen i will be happy.

Some GOOD points from the greens. Especially "Renewable electricity to provide 30 per cent of national demand by 2020." As it stands now in QLD they are putting "Save Energy" ads from the power companies all over TV because they can't provide enough power as it is to support the population. Having renewable energy such as Solar and Wind is an excellent idea.

On a side note nothing about wealth distrubution, a planned economy, or the nationalisation of the top 200 companies in Australia. Doesn't sound left enough for me, may have to go find a communist party.

Meh - As if we have different parties. The facade crumbles when you consider their actual positions on the following issues.

1. War Abroad

2. Independance

3. Bill of Rights

4. Central banking (monetary policy)

5. Nationalisation of our natural resource industry (or at least stricter regulation of corporate charters).

6. Middle East Policy

On all of these issues they are eerily identical. All arguing for the cameras whilst shaking hands behind closed doors with special interest groups to the tune of Corporate revolving doors and tax-payer funded pay rises.

Actions speak louder than words, gentlemen.

Rudd vowed to rid the world of nuclear weapons, build a new broadband network, integrate Asia into an European style union, stop global warming, regulate global currency trade, remove disadvantage in Aboriginal communities and stop whaling by the Japanese. Never said how the goals would be achieved, and never achieved any of them.

I don't recall a liberal leader in the last 20 years lieing and breaking so many promises.
