She's doing something about climate change, unlike Julia 2.0 who said there would be no carbon tax.
Everyone believes her as a woman with intergrity
---(journalist Steve Price claimed that Garrett had said to him that Labor would simply change all their policies once they got into power.)
    She's a proud athiest
In May 2010, said "There's more chance of me becoming the full-forward for the Dogs (Western Bulldogs AFL team) than there is any chance of a change in the Labor party.
In June 2010, challenged for the leadership of the Labor Party and won.

With the election only months away, time to rally behind our wonderful leader and point out her triumphs. (Try to avoid citing spending money as an accomplishment, instead look at policy)

    Tbh I dont like Gillard.

Labour parties (Labor for AU) *Apparently a couple party members thought it was cool the US was not following proper english back in 1800s.... didnt really take off. Looks silly..

They never have the mid class in the best interest.

    Conservatives..

I like Liberal parties. They promote trade & open markets.

In our recent election Labour had the worst election result since 1920 or something ?
They were offering to up the min wage to $15 from $13, and tax mid & high classes 39% to fund it lol....

I think not gaining office would have been a worse result. If you meant innefective government (as in, the requirement of government to be able to pass legislation) then ya, probably.

Well i voted greens so i'm a soft leftie at heart.

Wanted an NBN, gay marriage, an acknowledgement of climate change/solutions, and even though im studying geology and going to join the mining industry i still think the RR tax is a good idea.

Then again the rapture is going to happen soon, according to some lulz, so whats the point in political views, morale values or caring for the enviroment:P

As with all political parties i don't agree with everyting they do/say, I just don't see myself voting for the liberals. Last time i checked this was the 21st centuary and i see the greens dragging Australia into it particulary on social issuses. Anyway the greens will never get into power but if they can make some progressive social changes and at the very least the NBN happen i will be happy.

Some GOOD points from the greens. Especially "Renewable electricity to provide 30 per cent of national demand by 2020." As it stands now in QLD they are putting "Save Energy" ads from the power companies all over TV because they can't provide enough power as it is to support the population. Having renewable energy such as Solar and Wind is an excellent idea.

On a side note nothing about wealth distrubution, a planned economy, or the nationalisation of the top 200 companies in Australia. Doesn't sound left enough for me, may have to go find a communist party.

Meh - As if we have different parties. The facade crumbles when you consider their actual positions on the following issues.

    1. War Abroad

    2. Independance

    3. Bill of Rights

    4. Central banking (monetary policy)

    5. Nationalisation of our natural resource industry (or at least stricter regulation of corporate charters).

    6. Middle East Policy

On all of these issues they are eerily identical. All arguing for the cameras whilst shaking hands behind closed doors with special interest groups to the tune of Corporate revolving doors and tax-payer funded pay rises.

Actions speak louder than words, gentlemen.

Voting greens to cockblock isnt the solution.

@Jim - Independance - Greens want a republic, liberals want to preserve identity/history/australian culture, labor wants whats popular at the time.

Rest is pretty spot on when it comes to actual action. There are still minor things that influence social ideology, like boat people influx has risen since they stopped Howards 'Pacific Solution' and economic policy/spending.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BoatArrivals.gif -- boat people as a result of labor policy.

In response to collapses of American and European banks, Rudd went on a spending spree to ward off recession. In the process, he took a $20 billion surplus and turned it into a $57 billion deficit: a $77 Billion turnaround. He also took the $60 billion ‘Futures Fund’ and turned it into a $100 billion debt: a $160 Billion turnaround. Meanwhile, Australia's chief export countries of Japan, China and South Korea never went into recession. China used its surplus to buy depressed stocks. www.budget.gov.au/historical

Rudd vowed to rid the world of nuclear weapons, build a new broadband network, integrate Asia into an European style union, stop global warming, regulate global currency trade, remove disadvantage in Aboriginal communities and stop whaling by the Japanese. Never said how the goals would be achieved, and never achieved any of them.

I don't recall a liberal leader in the last 20 years lieing and breaking so many promises.

Screw it divide the wealth make everyone equal, and lolli pops for all. Also more cheese is needed so a egalitarian cheese eating/producing party for me, with a platform of the most crazy left wing stuff possible, the more outlandish and spit in the face of history and culture the better.

BTW my vote for the greens wasn't for cock blocking is because i agreed with alot of their policies why should i vote for labor or libs if they both have less of what i agree in, no political party fits someone perfectly and if it does go be the poster child fan boi for that party, meanwhile i will be getting this cheese and taxing the rich Smile

politicians are the greatest trolls of them all.

they promise the world, then someone comes along and asks them for a 'favor',all down hill from there.

Australians are too conservative to let the greens lead.

Just like the entire green movement its all just for show.
