Re: Mouse and keyboard
what's your budget ?
everyone has a preference, do you like ambidextrous mice or happy with right handed mice ?
minimum number of buttons on the mice ?
want back lit keys for the keyboard ? how about a display screen ?
do you want macro recording ?
list your criteria so we can help narrow it down
i personally find logitech gears does everything i want, but that may not be the case for you

Re: Mouse and keyboard
I'm looking to get them for my bday at end of month. Preferably a wired keyboard and wireless mouse. Right handed mouse. A few buttons on mouse. Backlight I don't really mind. Display screen for/on what? Macro recording would be nice.
Price range for both I would like to be less than $200.

Re: Mouse and keyboard
I've been happy with my Logitech series one G15 KeyBoard and matching G5 mouse for years now and though there have been newer, fancier gadgets released on the market since, i feel no need to upgrade as they still do all i require (including all those tricks stricken2o asked above). Always go Logitech brother, the aesthetics are down to personal taste.

Re: Mouse and keyboard
razer black widow ultimate keyboard :$150
razer imperator mouse :$100
both wired. wireless is a gimik
both are serving me really well so far, backlite keyboard is mechinised so sounds extra chunky, never miss a stroke once u get used to it. there are macro buttons on the side which take some getting used to the position. mouse has ajustable side buttons and comes in left and right handed. 6400dpi

Re: Mouse and keyboard
Becoming more of a fan of the Razer stuff now. IMO Logitech is losing its appeal. They make great general office equipment but it just doesn't quite click when it comes to their gaming gear.
In addition to your mouse and keyboard you need a "Tactical Mouse Pad"

Re: Mouse and keyboard
I use Razer mehanical keyboard and Razer Imperator mouse with a Razer scarab mouse pad..CAn someone explain to me the mouse sensitivity settings.. re DPi or similar and why sometimes the mouse loses tracking on the "supposed" best gaming mouse pad for the device??.. When it works though I must say it really helps with movement and aiming..

Re: Mouse and keyboard
seeing as you're in melbourne and local to pccasegear, you can pick it up ! (or get it delivered)
take a look and see what you like and do some research before stumping up the cash.

Re: Mouse and keyboard
I personally use Logitech gear. Never had any problems with it. Using a g9 mouse at the moment and love it.
If you can find the right price either razor or Logitech would be the go.

i still have a crappy mouse pad, 50 bucks for a mousepad is a little rich in my books the DPi settings, adjust them with the 2 top buttons below the mousewheel when your in windows and you sld see the resolution change, and notice a pick up in sensitivity. i normally use 4000 for desktop and 5600 for gammey game.
good choice volt, i think u'll be happy with that

Re: Mouse and keyboard
Razer stuff is good gear.
Running atm
Mouse/Keybord:
Razer Mamba Gaming Mouse with DPI 2500 with Polling Rate of 1000Hz
Razer Ironclad Dual-Sided Gaming Mouse Mat
Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Elite Mechanical Switch Gaming Keyboard
BTW Polling Rate is:
If you have invested in a high resolution mouse, adjusting the USB polling rate is a common trick to utilise the added precision it brings. The polling rate (or report rate) determines how often the mouse sends information to your computer. Measured in Hz, this setting equates to lag time (in ms).
By default, the USB polling rate is set at 125hz. The table below represents combinations of Hz values and their corresponding delay time:
Hz ms
1000 1
500 2
250 4
125 8
100 10
If the polling rate is set at 125 Hz, the mouse cursor can only be updated every 8 milliseconds. In situations where lag is critical (for example games), it is useful to decrease this value to as little as possible. Increasing the polling interval will improve precision at the tradeoff of using more CPU resources, therefore care should be taken when adjusting this value.
