Video editing and capture Empty Video editing and capture

Post  XiSTNZ Mon Jan 09, 2012 8:11 am

    Hey guys,
I am planning on starting to record some of our games or our quests to do the rediculous, and i was wondering what video editing software i should be using, as i really have no idea about this area. I was planning on using fraps to capture, but even on the lowest fps and screen size for the capture the videos are still huge. Just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks, as my hard drive cant hold to many more vids, and it is impossible for me to upload the videos that i have at the moment.

    Thanks
    Joel

I know abit about this subject.

I capture and render my own Skyrim videos, have been planning on doing it for BF3 as well.

I use fraps for capturing and Sony Vegas 11 for rendering.

Sony vegas can be used to splice together different segments of video (as fraps records in) and also render the video down to a much more manageable size (from say 20gb down to 200mb).

I can guide you through rendering and such using Sony Vegas on vent sometime if you have it/you get it.

Whatever you do make sure you are using Sony Vegas Pro 11. The vanilla 11 doesn't let you do nearly as much. I'll help you get Pro 11 for free when I get back from wet and wild later tonight. I can also help you especially with the editing and rendering as Im always editing together films for makes and short film comps. Catcha tonight!
