Appeal: 2nd Server Settings

Personally I liked the Caspian & Metro softcore.


I would like to make a friendly appeal to have the changes reverted.



If people prefer the way it is. I will shut up

to be honest i am happy with either of the options.

i preferred caspian and metro sortcore. It was good to jump in and practice on similar settings to the scrims.

I submit that it should be the maps we are scrimming on that week (hence the settings n maps last week) & definitely on softcore.

That said this week it would be Firestorm, Nashahr & damavand for eg. This gives those of us who are thinking about strats to go and get familiar with the size/layout/allocation.

+1 Jimi. Perhaps after the ladders and scrims we take a poll on the settings.

Though could we remove the instant vehicle spawn to get a hang of how vehicles spawn at cap points, Slato and I spent 2 mins sitting at gas station during the scrim waiting for a tank that didn't spawn. It finally spawned when CK's tank was taken out much later in the scrim as opposed to the training when the tank was just spawning straight away.

^^^ Yes - definitely instant spawn off.

I agree should be Scrim maps and settings its for us not the PUBs

Yeh maps should be the same as the scrim maps for that week, it is our practice server after all.

The whole point of the scrim server was for training/ closing it off and using it for scrims.
even though i was under the impression this is what we were already doing, i agree with jimmy

just so people can jump on even when its not a training day.

Not to worry everyone, it’s not a permanent change. Just experimenting with different server settings to gauge a reaction from the wider community with regards to a 24/7 Metro (Possible 3rd server which no one apart from me knows about :p). The server was going to be changed back tonight at some point, most likely tomorrow morning when SWStalker does the morning restart.

i vote for galdr settings on our practice server. With our upcoming scrim maps on rotation.
if the server is for prac....makes sense, screw the public on this one it is for our practice everything else 2nd.

There is a standing order that whenever the scrim team need the server, they can have it, any day any time. Its a training server when they need it, not 24/7 Training.

I wouldnt want both servers Hardcore.

I wouldnt want the smaller server as a rotation of all maps / all scrim maps.

Softcore metro + caspian is perfect.




If we need practise for scrims, we can CHANGE the second server settings for that, and save it as a template / profile in procon so it is easy to change & implement.

but thats only when the whole team wants to prac? what about rest of the week?

although it would probably depopulate if we took it off 100% hc or sc, so im easy but if the vote comes up with that option...

can we increase the options in the poll? 2 choices is a bit limited

can we put some sort of rush in as a poll option. nobody here ever plays/talks about rush. why the hate? thats what i played most in bc2

Thats already whats happening but with a Hypernia file as it can't be done with ProCon easily.

NEW POLL PLZ with more options is the only way to settle this.

Though I will admit I loved the Metro + Caspian.

I wish to change my mind re this server because of the way the server was populated today.

As most of you know, i'm on vent, procon, game server most of the day. Please don't be jealous - hehe.

I woke this morning to see that the 2nd server had been changed to Metro Harcore only. I was a little dubious in regards to this setting. However, after seeing the server get populated today, and still populated, i had second thoughts.

This server is different than most of the other Metro servers. We only have 32 players. This will stop most of the bottlenecks at the stairs. It promotes strategy playing. I think that the public will be very keen with this idea. We will have something above the rest. I think you all will agree that it is a pain having the bottlenecks.

In regards to scrim practice server. I think that when it is required the server can be taken down. I don't think that it will matter to the public because we will be offering something different than what is out there. All that is required is times so it can be arranged. Impromptu times will also be available as someone with acsess is around 90% of the time.
