1: Network Tweaks.


Fix BF3 Beta Disconnections:
-Disabling upnp in your modem or router should fix the issue.
-Turing off antivirus & making exceptions in firewalls may also help.

2: General Gameplay Tweaks.

These are some potential ones from my google search: GU (Gamers Underground) <- all credit goes to those posters.

How do I change my FOV (field of vision)?
- Using a hex editor, such as NotePad++, open "PROF_SAVE_body" from within \Battlefield 3 Open Beta\Settings.
- On the 3rd line you'll see "70.000000". Change to your desired FOV, save and exit.




How can I play Battlefield 3 using my Steam overlay?
- Disable Origin's overlay (click the gear/cog and go to the "in game" settings tab).
- In Steam, add Origin.exe as a non-steam game to your library.
- Launch the Origin shortcut from your Steam library, then launch BF3.


How do I display my FPS (frames per second)?
- While in-game hold Ctrl + Alt + S. The screen's upper left corner will show your frame rate.


If things seem blurry or seemingly unresponsive
- Disable motion blur in your graphics settings


If players look like they're "floating" in tunnels and dark spaces:
- Re-enable HBAO in your graphics settings


If your graphics preferences don't seem to be saving:
- Restart the game as some of the settings are can't change ingame (in Beta)


I seem to be having clipping issues, floating through the floor etc.
- Try a different server host as some servers seem perfectly fine while others are horrid.









3: Game Stability Fixes.

Problem: BF3 Crash.exe
When clicking on Join Server from the browse server window i only get "Joining Server" after that nothing happens at all.


Fix:

Due to the è in the folder name the game won't start and generates an Application Error in the event viewer.

To change this on x64 systems :

1) Goto the folder where Origin installed BF3 Beta (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Bèta Battlefield 3)

2) Rename the Bèta Battlefield 3 folder to Beta Battlefield 3

3)Start regedit , browse to the following key :

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WoW6432Node\EA Games
Change the GDFBinary & InstallDir paths to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Beta Battlefield 3




Problem - Low frames / Black Screens.

Fix
If you are experiencing Battlefield 3 black screen issues, or just want higher frames per second:
- Update to the latest BF3 optimised drivers (Nvidia or AMD ATI Catalyst)

5. Punkbuster & Kick issues.

PB is now enabled on alot of servers. If you are getting kicked try reinstalling PB.
Located in your Origin folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 Open Beta\__Installer\punkbuster\redist\pbsvc.exe
