New Computer
Can someone point me in the direction of a decent computer that can run bf3 on at least medium graphics but will be as cheap as possible. I already have a good graphics card and power supply. Also will 4GB of ram do for BF3 or is more needed?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: New Computer
Can you please specify your current pieces? Im running a brand new Radeon 6770, 4gb ram, Athlon II quad core, 3.00ghz and theres only a few minor glitches. If you are experiencing in game issues suck as your gun disappearing or not being able to see other people, its your graphics card. Not server side lag, just graphics lag. Ever since i got my new one, i have been on ultra and its still mostly lag free.

Re: New Computer
You would probably be looking for a computer with 6-8gb ram, a decent processor, maybe an i5 or if you can an i7, 1t hard drive would be the best to run on in my opinion, as you have a shit tonne of space to store shit on, you need a newish motherboard, by newish i mean the last year or so, because of the PCI Express x16 slot that it needs. aside from that a case to put it all in. I would suggest looking at other peoples suggestions before going ahead with anything

Re: New Computer
Don't think a 470 can run it on mid can it? O.O
What kind of frames are you getting with your current settings with your specs?
I had a 6950 ($350 - NZD)with 4G ram, i5 cpu.... before I upgraded and that ran it fine on high with AA turned off. And I take it your ram is DDR3? xD
There is no real benfit from going i7, no game benefits, unless you do like.... video editing or something O.o
If you had teh $$$$$ you could even do SSD with OS and bf3 on it which is what I've done.... amazing load times! but yea... pretty expensive atm
I'd probably roll with...
CPU: i5-2500K
MOBO: Asus P8Z68-V Z68
GPU: GTX560 TI
RAM: current if DDR3 O.o
PS: current if good enough O.o

Re: New Computer
I Agree with Tubbs.
Solid State drive with your OS on it paired up with a SATA3 1Tb hard drive with the way to go. Set up RAID and you have a wicked fast boot up.
My machine - from the time I press the power button till the time I can load up BF3...43 seconds.
oooh yeah.
And when I shut down the machine - 15 seconds.

Re: New Computer
My startup speed is 53sec with everything loaded up and 10sec shutdown
Don't have raid setup like dibz with his 43sec, but still fast :3
