It's WoW with lightsabers. Took Jugg and sniper to level 18. rage quit over pvp lag / incompetence. The game seriously does attract dumb people, even those astute enough to beta test. They are fucking dumb. I trolled all day. Q: How i get adv class? A: Wha? you didnt get it when you left? did you do all quests? Q: omg i skipped one or two and cancelled them. A: Idiot, that was your AC. have to reroll. Q: aww damn. Sigh, 2 hours lost. A: /whisper q 'That player does not exist'

Class quests are very frequent and should be refered to as 'Main Quest'
Doing class quests will kit you out nicely and provide about 33-50% of a level with a new one every level. Minimal other effort is needed, just do quests on the way.

Tonnes of running.
Graphics nice, scenery moves.
Random kill ten rats quests pop up while you're doing other missions so its not so bad.
You get titles based on what you do ingame. IE Fash, the Sadist was awarded when my alignment shifted. Fash the Revanite when i did something for some guys who believed in this other guy who once did something alongtimeagointhesamegalazy.
Dialogue for sith warrior in mainq was amazing. I felt evil and felt satisfaction.
Sniper i was someones bitch, didnt like it. Skipped though most.
No gold probs up to level 20, all came ez.
Minions are amazing. BH gets the best starter one, with heals. the SW sidekick was a blue twilek. Man i wanted to root her. So usefull, great damage. SI minion tanks like a boss.

I guess im dumb, but i love it so far. doing sith warrior class and havent even finished main quest line yet (as i only started it last night )

i'm more excited to get off korriban and see the planets but yeah. I GUESS WE'RE ALL ENTITLED TO OUR OPINIONS. im glad it hasnt dissapointed me in the slightest though.

Seems like you skimmed the classes and missed heaps.
SW has lots of dps especialy as a maurader
BH can heal, tank and do range dps
SI is your caster dps/heals or stealth melee dps/tank class
imperial agent i don't have much of a clue about but i assume heal with melee dps for operative and range dps for the sniper.

in short,
Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior
Jedi Guardian/Sith Juggernaught = tank/dps
Jedi Sentinel/Sith Marauder = dps

Jedi Consular/Sith Inquiistor
Jedi Sage/Sith Sorcerer = heal/dps
Jedi Shadow/Sith Assasin = tank/dps

Smuggler/Imperial Agent
Gunslinger/Sniper = dps
Scoundrel/ Operative= heal/dps


Republic Trooper/Bounty Hunter
Commando/Mercenary = heal/dps
Vanguard/Power Tech = tank/dps

Generally the paired groups play very simlar to each other with the exception of the abilities being named and animated differently , for example SI gets 'shock' which fires an instant burst of force lightning that damages and stuns weak targets for 3 seconds, while the JC gets 'project' which throws debries that instantly damges and stuns weak targets for 3 seconds

As with Secrets loving the beta and haven't been disappointed, much more polished product so far then BF3 was by this stage, and i would imagine can only get better.

amazon ordering hopefully next weeek! considering they email you the early access key and color stone. only gay thing is that early release is 15th and karkand is 14th so i dont even know what im going to do

also: its 80$ including delivery. i can assume oceanic release will be $100 brand new
(maybe, judging by all the newest game prices) so its an okay deal

Karkland free with limited ed bro. If you have to make a choice SWTOR is ez, bf3 too boring these days. Pubs and instaspawns have ruined it for me.

note Damavand Peak.... but yes fash i get the same feeling at times too. if i jump into a Tank or AA i might be able to change the fate of a game by playing a role i know best. SoV does it all the time we have our play around moments loose all flags and then we get our act together and re-cap and win the game.

@fin - story will be cool. Will enjoy generic rpg min maxing, more spoilers on Ilum and Thives(could be another word) den show promise towards endgame pvp.

There will be a tonne of really really bad players. Like worse than BF3, they will be in PvE servers so avoid it. If ilum is launched correctly, may stick for years and years. If not may be a two month sub.

I have a month to troll on class. Really like Juggs anti CC for pvp, +aoe slow, defence tree stun, he leveled amazingly fast. The global 1.5sec cooldown is different, not good or bad, just different so combat is a lot slower making it hard for melee to finish off those squishies. Kills are not killing blows, just contributions. A coordinated team on vent will wreck so much face, like beyond a joke.

Some of the SW cutscenes involve you moving you harnds to make two people smash into eachother, then choking another. As much as i like to 'win' and BH/IA is going to 'Win more' in pvp, being a sith lord is just way too cool to pass up. Companion ballance is perfect, cosmetically generic and beta had a bug where random ones talk. Biochem for SW for crafting seems smart so i can have a perma +Str stim and free heals, with implant crafting x2 for profit. Level 41 for the HK47 Assassin Droid from kotor clone

Concept:

Charge to create 4 seconds of cc immune, generates 4 rage, immobilizes enemy and with spec creates a free scream.

Sunder for +2 rage +2 armor reduction. Enemy is now free and you have 2 secs of immunity left. Free scream still active.

Impale cost 2 rage, 7 seconds on crit scream, free scream still up. Enemy starts to kite.

Scream as they've started running, applies second bleed.

Aoe slow, shatter

repeat step 1. win?

are there pvp and pve severs or are they all the same? any idea on what sever we are going to end up on? should have TOR around the 23/25 taking it easy this time going to not rush the game and enjoy the lvling and story line. also didnt mel have some friends setting up a guild or something whats the go there?

um daniels clan aka anons is actually a star wars guild so their playing
i think i'm going to look for guilds though i found a few good players in game

and yeah fin you'd want to follow the storyline, Sith warrior or SI have the best
story lines too. even just having 4 people (for group quests, as its the limit) is
really good if the skills are spread out so say 2 SW's and 2 SI's and you get through
the group quests pretty fast rather than having to do them on your own.

but mo's playing, me, fash, your wife etc it will be fun.

and yeah im pretty sure there are pvp servers.
